When siblings study in different classes, collecting fees class by class can hide the family's full position. A linked family gives staff a shared view without merging student records or automatically applying discounts.
Confirm siblings across classes
Use Students → Families to search students across classes and link them to a new or existing family. Matching father names or parent phone numbers can suggest siblings, but staff must confirm the link. Similar names alone must not merge records.
Review the family at the fee counter
Quick Collect reads the student's current family link and shows the linked siblings' dues. Staff can review each student and the family balance together. Opening arrears and dues through the current month remain distinct from future monthly charges.
Choose oldest-first allocation or a manual split
Family Collect supports a lump payment allocated oldest-first across sibling dues or an administrator's manual split. Each allocation is recorded against the relevant student ledger. Family advance can be recorded, but it is not automatically applied to later generated bills.
Keep concessions and student status independent
Sibling linking does not create an automatic discount. Apply approved concessions manually in Fee Setup. Changing one student's status must not change the status of siblings; students keep separate admissions, classes, attendance and academic records.
